Wedding Registries

Okay everyone. I just wanted you all to know that Adam and I are registered at both Macy's and Target for wedding gifts. If you just go to their websites (macys.com and target.com) and search for either mine or Adam's full name in the registries the lists should come up. You can also go into any Macy's or Target and ask an associate to look us up.

NOW....It's still early, and if you really really like getting things done ahead of time, I'd say go ahead and shop now, but keep in mind that I am not done with the registries yet and will be continuing to add items to them. Some people were asking so I figured I'd go ahead and get a head start, so please don't feel any pressure to get a gift right now.

Much love,

Mandy

9 Months!

We have 9 months until the big day! That may seem like a lot of time but I think it'll pass quite quickly, seems like only a few weeks ago we had a full year! Book those flights if you haven't yet, they are pretty cheap right now. Adam and I got ours for just over $600 roundtrip, and that includes both of us!

Stand by for registry information!

Inch by inch, row by row...

So the wedding is slowly but surely taking its kickass form! As you all know, the date is set, venues are booked, the wedding party is finalized, and the wedding dress has been tried on, loved, and purchased. However, I thought I'd clue you in on a few other things that have taken shape as well.

I'll start with the wedding colors. We are going with dark pink, dark purple, ocean blue, gold, and (obviously) white. I won't give too much away as far as who will be wearing what colors because I want our guests to see everything with fresh eyes on the big day (I won't even let Adam see the shoes I'll be wearing). Flowers are yet to be decided upon, I think we're going to get them wholesale at the Boston Flower Market via my awesome bridesmaid Claudia's retail connections, but they will definitely fit within that color scheme.

In addition, we have also hired our friend Sarah Ganzhorn, who just so happens to be a fabulous photographer, to capture all the amazing moments that are sure to pass by far too quickly. We have also hired a professional videographer, Timothy Bakland. Hopefully this will motivate me to hit the gym a little harder :).

We will also be having a DJ at the reception, but never fear! He is very cool and we have discussed the nature of our wedding at length with him. The music will be classy (for the most part), and the interruptions will be minimal, aside from the announcing of the bride and groom and wedding party, etc.

Lastly, for all my friends and family at home, Adam and I have made our flight reservations! We will be in Boston early on Monday, August 8th (to make sure we have plenty of time to get the marriage license squared away), and leaving to fly back to Seattle later in the day on Wednesday, August 17th. More details to come about bachelor/bachelorette parties and all that fun stuff.

Obviously, a lot of other things have taken shape as well, but as I mentioned before, I like to preserve the element of surprise in some capacity.

Hope you're all well! And follow my blog! I know it's read pretty often because of the view counter, but I only have two followers and *ahem* 0 comments. That's just sad.

Love,

Mandy

Halloween

Halloween is a very special time for Adam and I as a couple. We both love the change of season from hot to cool, the fall foliage, the costume parties, the spooky movies, music, and television, and of course all of the Halloween treats. Most of all, the holiday always brings us back to the beginning of our relationship. On October 28th of 2006, after the Halloween party we attended with all our friends, Adam took the initiative and asked me out. He took me outside my dorm room into the hallway, told me that he liked me very much, and asked in that formal, respectful, and charming manner that he always has about him if I would like to come to his dorm the following night and watch a movie with him. Having had a huge crush on him for over a year at that point, I was of course over the moon and accepted. The rest is history. We both knew early on that what we had was very special, intense, and rare, and took great care to preserve it.

4 years later, we're planning our wedding, and while it seems like a natural step for us to take at this point, I count my blessings every day, and take none of it for granted. There is never a shortage of love in the world, it's a natural human inclination and it's everywhere you look. Strong, lasting, ever-evolving and unconditional love, however, is not as common, and I know I'm extremely lucky to have found it, especially so early in life.

I'll stop gushing now. Happy Halloween everyone! Be safe and enjoy.

Flights & Hotels

Hello all!

Here are some helpful travel hints if you are attending our wedding from afar.

If you are driving, I would highly recommend giving yourself PLENTY of time. If you must travel on the day of the wedding keep in mind that traffic on the Mass Turnpike is a true living nightmare. Add an extra 2 hours to whatever Google Maps, Mapquest, or your GPS tells you to get your estimated trip time, just to be safe.

If you are flying, I would suggest booking flights as soon as you possibly can. You never know if you're going to be able to get a good rate on a specific date/time at the last minute, most of the time you can't, so do it now while all those flights are still open! I like travelocity.com, they usually have the best rates and it's an easy site to navigate.

As for accommodations, there are a number of places you can stay. The most cost-efficient places are probably places like Days Inn or Comfort Inn in Danvers. For our wedding weekend it looks like Days Inn is about $75 a night and Comfort Inn is about $110 a night. Do some research of your own though, too. Danvers and Peabody are good places to look for cost-efficient chain hotels. However, if you're willing to pay just a little bit more, the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem is a beautiful and very historic place. I think their rooms run about $130 a night, and the environment is a whole lot nicer. If you really want to splurge, Bass Rocks Ocean Inn is right next to the reception spot. It's beautiful, but they run a lot closer to $300 a night.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance!

New Wedding Blog

Hello All!

Welcome to our wedding blog. This is going to be a forum for us (but mostly me) to share details about the wedding, get feedback, and answer your questions. I'll admit, it's mostly for my own amusement, but I hope it's helpful to some people in some way, shape, or form.

Welcome, enjoy, and thank you for visiting!!!
