Less than 6 months to go!

It's getting down to the wire! If you're planning on coming and you haven't booked your flights/hotels yet, now is the time, especially if you're planning on staying in Gloucester, where the reception is. It's a vacation town and those rooms will fill quickly, so it would be a good idea to act now.

In other news......GAHHHHH!!!!!!!! LESS THAN 6 MONTHS!!!!! There is still so much to do and my stress level is slowly rising, but I am beyond excited.

Just to update everyone a little bit on mine and Adam's life, here is the latest:

We decided to lease our current apartment for another 6 months. Our lease is up at the end of March and we were planning on moving, but decided that it would be a little more costly and a little more of a hassle than we'd prefer. After the wedding just seems like a better time.

We've been traveling quite a bit. Last month we went to Vancouver and I went home to visit my family in Boston, and this month Adam visited his family in Ohio. We also just got home from a one-night trip to central Washington to visit some friends, which was awesome. The drive through the mountains is breathtaking.

I got glasses! I went to an optometrist and as I suspected, I am moderately nearsighted. I am amazed at how well I can see with the glasses, I keep saying I don't think I could ever see this well before, it's an incredible sensation. I will probably be going back to get contacts before too long, because even though I don't mind the glasses, my vision for myself for my wedding day did not include them on my face.

Well, I hope that everyone is doing well and had a fantastic Valentine's Day! Let me know if you need any help selecting a hotel or finding flights. Kayak.com is great for flights, and hotwire.com is great for hotels if you're looking for a good deal.

Take care!

Love,

Mandy

6 1/2 Months!

Hello everyone!!!

February 12th is fast approaching, and that means we will only have 6 months to go before the wedding! I have been hard at work on the registries today and I will continue to add to it, but I just wanted to remind everyone that since we will be traveling to Boston for the wedding and returning to Seattle afterwards, we ask that you please have gifts delivered to our Washington address. You will have this option at checkout.  We are registered at both Macy's and Target.

The tuxes have been selected! All the men in the wedding party will need to get fitted in addition to dads/stepdads/grandfathers if they want. You all have plenty of time to get fitted, so I would suggest waiting for now (we may be changing a couple of details). The deadline is 30 days before the wedding. If you're driving it would probably be a good idea to go to the store closest to you and then you can just return it at a Massachusetts store the day after the wedding. If you're flying you might want to consider picking up your tux at a Massachusetts store, but you should still go get measured at least a month before and they will make sure your order is available in Massachusetts. Danvers and Peabody both have locations within 15 minutes of the wedding location.

Hope everyone is doing well and having an excellent 2011!

It's Been Awhile...

Hello everybody!

The 7-month mark is fast-approaching! Adam and I will be picking out the tuxes soon, so groomsmen beware! Bridesmaids, it's probably a good time to start thinking about getting measured and buying your dresses in case any alterations are needed. You will be ordering from Benita's Bridal in Silverdale, WA, just call them (360) 692-9600 and they will ship it to you. You can get it altered at any dress shop if it doesn't fit. Remember, if you're in between sizes, go for the bigger one, it's easier to take a dress in than it is to let it out. As for shoes, I'm looking this morning and will be emailing you with the final decision soon.

Hope everyone's holiday season was a blast, we certainly had a lot of fun :).

Love and hugs,

Mandy

Wedding Registries

Okay everyone. I just wanted you all to know that Adam and I are registered at both Macy's and Target for wedding gifts. If you just go to their websites (macys.com and target.com) and search for either mine or Adam's full name in the registries the lists should come up. You can also go into any Macy's or Target and ask an associate to look us up.

NOW....It's still early, and if you really really like getting things done ahead of time, I'd say go ahead and shop now, but keep in mind that I am not done with the registries yet and will be continuing to add items to them. Some people were asking so I figured I'd go ahead and get a head start, so please don't feel any pressure to get a gift right now.

Much love,

Mandy

9 Months!

We have 9 months until the big day! That may seem like a lot of time but I think it'll pass quite quickly, seems like only a few weeks ago we had a full year! Book those flights if you haven't yet, they are pretty cheap right now. Adam and I got ours for just over $600 roundtrip, and that includes both of us!

Stand by for registry information!

Inch by inch, row by row...

So the wedding is slowly but surely taking its kickass form! As you all know, the date is set, venues are booked, the wedding party is finalized, and the wedding dress has been tried on, loved, and purchased. However, I thought I'd clue you in on a few other things that have taken shape as well.

I'll start with the wedding colors. We are going with dark pink, dark purple, ocean blue, gold, and (obviously) white. I won't give too much away as far as who will be wearing what colors because I want our guests to see everything with fresh eyes on the big day (I won't even let Adam see the shoes I'll be wearing). Flowers are yet to be decided upon, I think we're going to get them wholesale at the Boston Flower Market via my awesome bridesmaid Claudia's retail connections, but they will definitely fit within that color scheme.

In addition, we have also hired our friend Sarah Ganzhorn, who just so happens to be a fabulous photographer, to capture all the amazing moments that are sure to pass by far too quickly. We have also hired a professional videographer, Timothy Bakland. Hopefully this will motivate me to hit the gym a little harder :).

We will also be having a DJ at the reception, but never fear! He is very cool and we have discussed the nature of our wedding at length with him. The music will be classy (for the most part), and the interruptions will be minimal, aside from the announcing of the bride and groom and wedding party, etc.

Lastly, for all my friends and family at home, Adam and I have made our flight reservations! We will be in Boston early on Monday, August 8th (to make sure we have plenty of time to get the marriage license squared away), and leaving to fly back to Seattle later in the day on Wednesday, August 17th. More details to come about bachelor/bachelorette parties and all that fun stuff.

Obviously, a lot of other things have taken shape as well, but as I mentioned before, I like to preserve the element of surprise in some capacity.

Hope you're all well! And follow my blog! I know it's read pretty often because of the view counter, but I only have two followers and *ahem* 0 comments. That's just sad.

Love,

Mandy
